Northampton Committee Sixth Anniversary March

Saturday, December 11, 2004 marks six years of weekly vigils by the Northampton Committee to Stop the War on Iraq (formerly the Northampton Committee to Lift the Sanctions on Iraq). We will mark the occasion with a special four-way convergence march. Gather at one of four locations around the city at 10:30 a.m. to be part of the march, or meet us for the vigil at its usual time and place.

Here are the four locations:

  • EAST: Bridge Street Elementary School (0.3 mi east of King Street on Bridge Street)
  • WEST: Intersection of Elm and Crescent Streets
  • NORTH: Intersection of King and Summer Streets
  • SOUTH: In front of the Lathrop Home, 215 South Street

The four groups will walk in from these neighborhoods, inviting neighbors and ringing bells or drumming as they go. The marches will converge at 11 a.m. at our usual vigil place, the County Courthouse, Main and King Streets.
